HARRISBURG – State Representative Seth Grove (R-York) urged Gov. Josh Shapiro to sign House Bill 1993, a bipartisan piece of legislation providing needed reforms to pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) in Pennsylvania.

“Pharmacists are a critical part of our health care network,” Grove said.  “Unfortunately, many community pharmacies cannot compete under our current laws governing the relationships between pharmacies and PBMs. House Bill 1993 will change this by requiring transparency for prescription costs, banning patient steering and allowing pharmacists to provide immunizations to more people.”

“I urge the governor to sign this legislation posthaste to ensure we don’t lose more vital health care providers,” Grove concluded.
