WHAT: The House State Government Committee will meet Wednesday to take up several bills, including
House Bill 2507 to allow a commission to use information from the Department of State to remove deceased registered voters from the rolls.
In addition, the committee will take up the following bills, as well as any other matters:
•
House Bill 978 would amend the Right-to-Know Law so state agency’s financial institutions account numbers, routing numbers, credit card numbers, and passwords are exempt from disclosure.
•
House Bill 2471 would provide an expedited open records process for elected officials who need public information in the course of their daily duties. It would require public agencies to respond to a Right-to-Know Law request by a public official within five days of the request.
•
House Bill 2496 would allow for the grant and the conveyance of approximately 10.268 acres of land for $125,000 in Tunkhannock Township, Wyoming County, to the county.
•
Senate Bill 423 would permit retirees from the State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS) to return to service and work part-time as a state-certified fire instructor without having their benefits stopped.
•
Senate Bill 559 would increase the transparency of Pennsylvania’s vaccine rollout by requiring the Department of Health to make public the amount of vaccine doses that have been wasted.
