Lawmakers Join Attorney General to Announce Proposals to Prevent Fraud in State Medical Assistance Program
January 9, 2020
WHAT: Because of the considerable amount of taxpayer money used to fund Pennsylvania’s Medical Assistance Program, or Medicaid, the third largest in the nation, and the vulnerable population the program it serves, it is important to ensure taxpayer money is used to assist those in need. With this in mind, a bipartisan group of lawmakers from the House and Senate will introduce a package of bills to reform how services are provided. This package will codify the recent grand jury recommendations along with enacting statutes which mirror federal law to allow the Commonwealth to combat fraud in the program and recoup state tax dollars. The package of bills and issues facing the program will be discussed at a press conference.
WHO: Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover) will be joined by Attorney General Josh Shapiro and members of the General Assembly.
WHEN: Monday, Jan. 13, at 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: The Main Rotunda of the Capitol, Harrisburg.
LIVE WEBSTREAMING: Barring any technical difficulties, the press conference will be livestreamed on RepGrove.com.
