York County House Republicans Announce CTE Funding for York Tech
December 20, 2019
HARRISBURG – The York County House Republican delegation announced today that the York County School of Technology is the recipient of a $50,000 grant to improve career and technical education (CTE).
The delegation, comprised of House Appropriations Chair Stan Saylor (R-Red Lion) and Reps. Seth Grove (R-Dover), Kate Klunk (R-Hanover), Dawn Keefer (R-Dillsburg), Keith Gillespie (R-Hellam) and Mike Jones (R-York Township), issued the following statement:
“Improving CTE throughout Pennsylvania, and particularly in York County, has been a priority for the House. We passed a bill that addresses challenges in the system and helps make students aware of the numerous opportunities the educational and career path affords.
“This grant funding is a small part of our efforts. We applaud the Department of Education for its commitment to the York County School of Technology and, most importantly, its students.
“On the legislative front, we will continue to work toward ensuring all students are afforded options so they can lead prosperous lives through rewarding careers.”
The purpose of the grant is to purchase equipment aligned with the needs of local employers for use in approved CTE programs and to provide hands-on training to students.
