DOVER – Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover) announced today RHI Magnesita in West Manchester Township is the recipient of a $3 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant.

The funding will be used for a project to construct a new facility and related infrastructure to house and operate new crusher equipment used to process limestone.

“This project will have a positive impact on our local and state economy and will support hundreds of jobs. The direct, indirect and induced economic activity associated with the project is expected to generate about $3.8 million in state tax revenue annually, making the grant a sound investment for Pennsylvania and its residents,” Grove said. “I am glad the governor’s administration saw the merits of this project.”

Operations of the new crusher are estimated to generate $225.5 million in total economic impact and is to support 1,020 total jobs, including the preservation of 446 direct jobs by RHI Magnesita. This will lead to over $67.7 million in annual earnings within Pennsylvania, according to the company.

RACP is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. These projects have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues or other measures of economic activity. RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
