YORK – State Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover) issued the following statement following the passing of Dover Borough Mayor Robert “Bob” Dentler:
“I am deeply saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. He was the epitome of public service and a true testament of what it means to give back to one’s community. Bob was a hard-working man and a leader in Dover who strove to make the borough a better place for everyone.
“Bob’s long list of giving back to our country and community includes serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; serving on the Dover council before becoming its mayor; and being a very active member of Union Fire and Hose Company in Dover where he served as the company’s current fire police captain.
“People like Bob are few and far between. We all can learn how to be better citizens from his selfless service to community. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
