HARRISBURG – Senior citizens, their families and caregivers are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming seminars hosted by state Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover) to learn about scams targeting senior citizens.
“These seminars are a way to become educated about the warning signs of a scam so you or someone you know doesn’t become a victim,” Grove said. “Criminals have ample technology that allows them to disguise their identity and appear to be legitimate.”
The first seminar will be held at Heritage Senior Center,
3700 Davidsburg Road in Dover Township, at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8. The second seminar will be held at Windy Hill on the Campus, located at
1472 Roths Church Road in Spring Grove, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9.
Chief Deputy Prosecutor Dave Sunday of the York County District Attorney’s Office will present information to attendees.
“Dave Sunday will discuss ways to protect yourself against one of the fastest-growing crimes in America,” Grove said. “Each year, more than 9 million Americans have their identities stolen and nearly $3 billion is lost annually in cases in which senior citizens are the victims of a scam.”
