Grove: Election Integrity Ballot Questions Approved
7/8/2022
HARRISBURG – The General Assembly moved forward with two election reform measures, Rep. Seth Grove (R-York), chairman of the House State Government Committee, announced.

The two election-related constitutional amendments were included in the Grove-sponsored Voting Rights Protection Act. One proposed amendment would enhance the state’s current voter identification law by requiring voters to show an identification card at polls. The second election-related amendment would require independent election audits by the auditor general.

“Both ballot questions respond to the want of the people. I have heard numerous calls for voter identification verification at polls, as well as audits to guarantee the authenticity of election results,” Grove said. “It is only appropriate for voters to have the final say on these issues in the form of ballot questions.”

For voters to see the questions on ballots, the measures must be approved by the General Assembly next session.
