Grove Invites Residents to Forum on Human Trafficking
7/5/2018
DOVER – Residents are encouraged to attend a forum on combatting human trafficking presented by the York County Legislative Delegation and hosted by Rep. Seth Grove (R-York) at York College’s Alumni Hall on Thursday, July 12, starting at 1 p.m.

“Human trafficking is one the vilest crimes and it reaches nearly every community in the Commonwealth, including York County,” Grove said. “During my forum, attendees can learn about efforts already underway to combat this crime.”

The forum will feature numerous speakers who are knowledgeable on human trafficking. Speakers will include York County District Attorney Dave Sunday and members of law enforcement, victim advocates and leading researchers. Members of the state General Assembly will also be in attendance.

In addition to hearing from the speakers, Grove will also discuss his legislation, House Bill 2029, to further combat human trafficking. The bill would increase penalties on those convicted of being involved in human trafficking. It would also give law enforcement more tools to combat this heinous crime.

“Providing police with the needed tools to fight human trafficking is just one ingredient in fighting this crime,” Grove said. “Those who attend the forum will also learn the signs of human bondage so such suspicious activity can be reporter to the proper authorities.”

For more information about the forum, call Grove’s office at (717) 767-3947.
